As the world eagerly anticipates the 28th UN Climate Conference (COP28) set to take place in the United Arab Emirates, Inspired PLC is thrilled to announce the return of our COP Insight Hub. Building on the success of our COP27 coverage, we are excited to once again offer businesses a front-row seat to the conversations and issues that will shape their future.
Taking place in Dubai from 30th November – 12th December, COP28 is poised to be a milestone event, with a renewed sense of urgency and commitment evident in catastrophic events such as the flooding in Pakistan and China, record-breaking heat waves in America and Europe, severe drought in Africa and unprecedented ice melting in the Polar Regions.
World Leaders are gearing up to submit ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term strategies. The collaborative efforts at COP28 aim to set the stage for transformative change on a global scale, emphasising the role of proactive and ambitious commitments in shaping environmental sustainability.
The thematic programme integrates four overarching themes – Technology & Innovation, Inclusion, Frontline Communities, and Finance. Additionally, the programme will include new action areas such as health, trade, relief, recovery, and peace to address the diverse challenges on the horizon.
To help organisations navigate the COP28 landscape, Inspired will provide a range of useful resources and insights on our dedicated Hub. Throughout the two-week event, businesses can access insightful blogs, downloadable guides, and check their net-zero plan – offering a clear, personalised, step-by step guide to help them meet their decarbonisation carbon goals.
Two expert guides, ‘Your Essential Guide to COP28’ and ‘The Complete Guide to Getting Ahead of Your Energy,’ will be available for download, offering organisations comprehensive information on the conference’s impact and guiding them toward achieving net-zero.
Georgina Penfold, Group Strategy and Communications Director at Inspired comments:
“The annual Climate Conferences are an opportunity to reflect on our action to address the global challenge of Climate Change and to take stock of progress. Progress that we are making in our organisations to tackle decarbonisation of our buildings and processes, and progress we are making as a nation towards the obligations we took on under the Paris Agreement.
Decisions made by world leaders during the ‘Conference of the Parties’ (COP) could impact not only on how we as energy and sustainability leaders manage our business operations, but more importantly on how society adapts to a changing environment.
As with any highly publicised global event, the Climate COPs tend to attract a lot of coverage with conflicting views and biases. This means it can be challenging to sift through the influx of information and encapsulate what the decisions made in the United Arab Emirates at COP28 will have for businesses and non-profit organisations here in the UK.
As the UK’s leading commercial energy and sustainability advisor, we support and empower our clients to have informed conversations internally and externally, and to take the next step in reaching their climate goals.
With knowledge, comes empowerment.”
As COP28 unfolds its significance in the global fight against climate change, we invite you to stay informed and engaged. Bookmark our Hub and check back regularly for real-time updates, crucial insights, and exclusive content directly from the conference.
Join us on this collective journey as we work hand in hand to pave the way for a more sustainable future.
