I lead Talent & Development for Inspired, which means I oversee recruitment as well as initiatives that help our people grow and succeed.
Most days involve partnering with hiring managers on current vacancies, reviewing candidates, conducting interviews, supporting workforce planning and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
Alongside recruitment, I work on development programmes, employee engagement and reward. The role is a mix of strategic planning and hands-on delivery, and I enjoy being able to influence both the quality of talent we bring into the business and the development of our existing teams.
What I enjoy most is the people. Throughout my career, every role I’ve had has been centred around working with and supporting people, which is something I’ve always loved.
I also enjoy the variety that comes with my role, as every day brings different challenges and opportunities to learn.
I feel really lucky that I’ve been able to build a career around something I’m genuinely passionate about. Inspired has given me some fantastic opportunities to grow and develop, and it’s rewarding to be in a position where I can help people progress in their careers while continuing to develop my own.
I didn’t set out with a specific plan to work in this industry, but I was always drawn to roles that involved working with people. Over time, that naturally led me into talent and development, which is where I found my passion.
Joining Inspired then gave me the opportunity to combine that passion with an industry that is constantly evolving and making a real impact. So, I guess what has kept me here is the combination of people and purpose.
The best advice I’ve ever received is to say yes to opportunities, even when they feel a little daunting.
Some of the most rewarding moments in my career have come from taking on challenges that initially felt outside of my comfort zone.
Growth doesn’t happen when we play it safe, and I’ve learned that being open to new experiences can lead to opportunities you never expected.
I’m a mum of two young children, aged four and two, so life is wonderfully chaotic!
Along with my husband and our dog, we spend a lot of our time enjoying the outdoors, getting stuck into arts and crafts, and running between the children’s various activities.
In our downtime, my husband and I love nothing more than a good drama or documentary. We’re looking forward to Bake Off, Strictly, and The Traitors making their return.
And on the rare occasion I get some actual me time, I love an outing, day or night, with my girlfriends, preferably with wine.
