A day in the life
Want to know more about working at Inspired?
I am an Account Manager. I have a small portfolio and support the team where I can with tenders and any costings needed. This supports my own learning and development.
As a nerdy gamer, I like the number crunching and analytical side of things. I see analysis as working out and finding things beneath the surface, which is challenging but super rewarding. When you do find things that benefit the customer, especially in a financial way, it’s very satisfying to then report the good news. I also enjoy the environmental aspect, supporting organisations with their net–zero ambitions.
Interestingly, my now wife. When I could see a future with her, we now have two children, I knew I needed a more stable 9-5 job, rather than the bartending work I was doing at the time I met her. I spent two and a half years with an energy supplier in the metering department before moving onto Inspired mid–Covid. It was a stressful time to move jobs, but 100% the best career decision I have made.
Be a sponge. With the ever-changing world of the energy industry and in all areas of life. Do not be afraid to learn new things even when proven wrong. Sometimes being wrong is not a bad thing.
My trade is in bartending, which I really enjoy and do not treat as a job. I learned how to do bartending properly in Thailand for a month with the European Bartender School. I still make some cameo appearances behind the bar from time to time. I have worked at some interesting functions, including high profile charity events, the 2023 Soccer Aid afterparty being one. I enjoy making any cocktail, except Negronis!
